20 Year & 5 Year Limited Product Warranties

Warranty covers select products purchased from Pease Doors ("Pease"). See below for details. If you need to make a claim, scroll to the "claim form" below. Warranty Coverage

Subject to the qualifications, exclusions, considerations, and limitations detailed below, Pease warrants that its products are free from defects in material and workmanship that would render the product unfit for its normal and recommended use.

Products have a limited product warranty based on the table below:

Weatherproofing, doormats, and other products or accessories not mentioned above are not covered by this warranty.

Warranty coverage begins on the date of initial purchase.

Qualifications

Original proof of purchase required. Warranty is valid for products purchased and installed in the USA only. Products must be properly stored prior to installation. Products must be finished and installed according to manufacturers directions and in a timely manner. Warranty is non-transferrable.

Exclusions

Any of the below exclusions will fully void this warranty:

  • Any deficiencies resulting from abuse or negligence
  • Accidental glass breakage, including by example caused by debris or foreign objects striking the glass
  • Damage from vandalism, theft, or domestic or wild animals
  • Harsh natural environmental conditions, including by example from substantial exposure to sun, salt spray, or airborne pollutants; other severe conditions including exposure to harsh chemicals or solvents, such as acidic brick washes or stucco leach
  • Damage attributable to or caused by acts of God that include, but are not limited to, stresses, high winds, floods, fire and other extreme conditions
  • Improper handling, storage, or transportation
  • Improper installation, modification, or alterations
  • Failure to properly finish (paint or stain) the door slab, trim, or components (e.g., door glass frames) that require finishing
  • Door glass frames or louvers painted a dark color in applications where the unit receives direct sunlight
  • Installation behind a storm door
  • Product installed in or submitted to high heat conditions, high moisture conditions, high vibration, or extreme temperature changes
  • Product subjected to stress resulting from localized application of heat, movement of building/components, or expansion or contraction of framing members
  • Failure to properly clean or maintain
  • Condensation, frost, or mold resulting from humidity within the building and interior/exterior temperature differentials. Note: There is no such thing as a “condensation-free” window in high-humidity conditions. Controlling the amount of moisture in your home is the most effective action you can take to avoid condensation.

Inspection & Discovery of Defect

It is the Customer’s responsibility to inspect the Product immediately upon receipt of shipment. Pease shall have no obligation under this warranty with respect to any defect reasonably discoverable upon immediate inspection after the product has been installed (or otherwise used). 

Note - the following items are not considered defects:

  • Blemishes and scratches and other imperfections that are not readily observable from a distance of 4 feet
  • Caulking or residue that can be cleaned up during the normal course of installation
  • Minor scuffs or scratches (non-structural) that can be concealed during finishing and installation
  • Natural variations in wood grain or pattern (e.g., knots, etc.)
  • Bubbles, lines, slight surface imperfections and slight discoloration are characteristics of fine-handcrafted glass or finished hardware
  • Any sound that occurs from decorative grids striking the glass due to vibrations from daily use or outside traffic

If defect(s) occur or become apparent after receipt of shipment within the warranty period, then the Customer must also follow the Warranty Claim Procedures set forth below. Warranty claims must be initiated within 30 days after discovering a defect.

Warranty Claim Procedure

The Customer must adhere to the following procedure to make a claim under this warranty:

1. Claims must be initiated within 60 days of discovery, either through the online portal below or by submitting a written claim form (available on request)
2. All of the requested information must be provided including: a) Adequate description of the claim defect(s), b) Proof of purchase including date and order #, and c) Any manufacturing etchings or stickers to establish date product was manufactured (e.g., on door glass this is etched on lower corner of glass or stamped inside the sealed glass on the aluminum tubular spacer).
3. The Customer must, if requested by Pease, permit Pease or its representative to inspect the product. Customer must also reasonably provide pictures clearly indicating the defect(s)

Remedies

After receiving a valid claim, Pease Doors will, at its option, either:

  • (A) Repair the Product 
  • (B) Provide a replacement Product (or part, as appropriate) of like kind and design, with Pease covering a portion of the cost of the replacement according to the following calculations:

    First the current retail price of the replacement product (or part) will be discounted using any wholesale pricing or discounts that were applied to the initial order. This discounted retail price will be referred to as the Comparable Replacement Cost (“CRC”)

    Next, the percentage of warranty coverage of the discounted cost will be determined by the Period After Purchase (years):

*If Pease elects to provide a replacement Product, the limited warranty on the replacement Product will last for the balance of the warranty on the original Product.

  • (C) If no suitable repair or replacement can be found, Pease may elect to refund to the customer the residual value of the product, prorated from the date of purchase in the following manner:

For the first year of warranty, Pease will cover any inbound or outbound shipping expenses related to Pease’s selected remedy. In the event shipping is required, Pease will arrange shipping directly. Shipping expenses incurred by the customer are non-refundable and not covered by this warranty. After the first year, the customer will be responsible for any shipping costs to return defective product and any shipping costs related to Pease sending replacement products or components to the customer. 

Pease’s liability under this warranty is limited to the residual value of the product, as described in (C) above. Pease will in no event be responsible for labor, removal of original Product, installation of Product, expenses, or other charges, costs or claims incurred by the Customer.

Disclaimer of Warranty

This limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. If state or provincial law does not allow exclusion of implied warranties, the consumer agrees that the statute of limitations for any such claim will be reduced to one year or the least amount of time permitted under the state or provincial law. Moreover, in no event will Pease be liable for special, consequential or incidental damages. This warranty gives the purchaser specific legal rights. You may have other rights which vary by state.

Limitation of Liability

PEASE’S SOLE LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS REPLACEMENT, REPAIR, OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE AS SET FORTH THE REMEDIES SECTION OF THIS DOCUMENT. IN NO EVENT WILL PEASE BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGE OF ANY KIND TO A PREMISES, LOSS OF PRODUCT USE, REINSTALLATION, LABOR, REMOVAL, REFINISHING, TEMPORARY/PERMANENT RELOCATION OF RESIDENTS OR PROPERTY, LOSS OF PROFITS/REVENUE, INTEREST, LOST GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, IMPAIRMENT OF OTHER GOODS OR WORK, INCREASED OPERATING EXPENSES, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS CLAIMS OR CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES FOR SUCH DAMAGES, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, STRICT LIABILITY OR NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES). SOME STATES/PROVINCES/ TERRITORIES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY PROVIDES SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, BUT THE WARRANTY HOLDER MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY BY LOCATION. IF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS DEEMED TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE, IN NO EVENT WILL PEASE’S ENTIRE LIABILITY EXCEED THE INITIAL PURCHASE PRICE.

Complete & Exclusive Warranty

Unless modified in a later writing signed by both Pease and the Customer, this warranty is the complete and exclusive warranty related to the Product, and it supersedes all earlier agreements and other communications relating to the Product. No employee of Pease or any other party is authorized to make any warranty in addition to this warranty. Invalidation of any one or more of the provisions of this warranty shall not invalidate or affect one of the other provisions.
